A reloadable
card can be reloaded online (and in store with some merchants) and a fundraising
rebate is tracked back to your fundraising group through the Shopfunds tracking
system based on the number on the back of the gift card. For reloadable cards Progressive
Fundraising sends a cheque to your group each quarter. A traditional gift card program
is not reloadable and your group buys the card at a discount. Groups resell the
card at the face value and keep the difference. Shopfunds combines both elements
in its program along with an online shopping mall.
Which shopping cards can be re-loaded?
The reloadable
shopping cards are listed on the order form, and on the
retailer partner page.
Who handles the reload?
For certain
cards the retailer reloads your cards in the store and then sends us the transaction
information so that we can apply the rebate to your group. For other reloadable
cards the retailers have partnered with the ESI Fundraising Network to handle the
reload online safely and securely. The ESI Fundraising Network also provides us
with transaction information.
If I have a older card that I purchased through Progressive and now the retailer
offers reloadable cards, can I reload my old card?
No, older
non-reloadable cards can not be reloaded when the retailer begins offering reloadable
cards. Only cards that have been purchased as a reloadable card may be reloaded
and will earn rebates every time you reload the card.
If I already have a reloadable card from one of the ShopFunds retailers that offer
reloadable cards, can I reload that card and earn rebates for my group?
You may
be able to reload the card, but only cards purchased through Progressive can be
reloaded and earn rebates for your group.
